Were you there?
The festival of Talents weekend started on Thursday 17th July with a flower arranging demonstration by Bob Harris. In no time at all an amazing display of flowers appeared, accompanied by music chosen by Bob and played on the organ by Edwin.
Startling browns and orange flowers to complement the beautiful woodwork of Ray Duffield. Four bright red arrangements placed into picture frames to highlight the display by the Black Country Artists. A white and lime green display to complement the very striking display of quilted patchwork jackets and delicate lingerie made by Su Dymond. A very delicate combination of pink roses, honeysuckle and various garden flowers made a striking country garden feature and to the singing of the audience, "Praise my soul the King of heaven", Bob completed a triple display of bright yellow gerberas, and pale yellow roses and carnations for the high altar. A truly enjoyable evening.
On Friday and Saturday the church was visited by over a hundred people viewing the numerous displays-what an amazing amount of talents we have in our midst. Every window and nook and cranny filled with such a variety of handmade, hand sewing or painted crafts of every kind. We do thank all those people who took the time to arrange their displays and give us all the pleasure of sharing their talents and thank you to all who volunteered to act as stewards or tea makers.
An evening of entertainment was provided on Saturday, organised by David and Su, together with numerous members and friends of St. Paul's. A very enjoyable and jolly evening-grateful thanks to all performers and to all those who came to be entertained and support the finale of our weekend.
